Following the initiation of the construction of three underpasses, namely, Yichang International Trading Building BRT stop, Yunji Tunnel entrance and Guoyuan No.1 Road BRT stop, Yichang BRT system and Dongshan Avenue transformation project officially started today without commencement ceremony. In the meantime, the prior announcement released by Traffic Police Department has been put into practice, which aims to enhance the traffic security during the first phase of construction.

　　It is learned from the Municipal Construction Headquarters Office that the renovation of Dongshan Avenue, which is also one part of the pre-construction of BRT Project, will focus on constructing the three underpasses between First Xiling Road to First Guoyuan Road on Dongshan Avenue. The construction will go through three phases. In the first phase, the motorways will be closed for the construction. As some old urban districts and important commercial centers featuring dense population, busy traffic, and complex transportation are within or around the construction section, the traffic control has got implemented, and as a consequence, some bus routes have been readjusted. The Construction Headquarters Office printed 10,000 copies of “A letter to Yichang Urban Dwellers”, and distributed to various organizations, commercial stores, and the inhabitants nearby, in order to minimize the impact on the daily life of Yichang people, particularly on their transportation.
