According to the news on 24th, the 27th meeting of Yichang Municipal Standing Committee decided to put the Fitness Center of Yichang Municipal Stadium into reconstruction, which will be started in June this year and completed in June next year. It will be conductive to build Yichang as a regional sports center and national fitness model city.

　　Yichang Stadium was built in 1992 with a total construction area of 15,000 square meters, but its sports facilities are facing a serious aging problem. Therefore, this reconstruction will include projects of the transformation of the exterior walls, of replacing the plastic track, grass and etc., of installing electronic display, and of maintaining auditorium, venue sewer and etc. It is estimated that the total investment is 19.63 million yuan. Meanwhile, the National Fitness Center, with a total construction area of 9,568 square meters, behind the Stadium will be put into transformation of the external walls, leaking roofs and the safe handling measures, of replacing professional sports floors, of increasing noise reduction facilities, and of replacing lighting facilities, utilities and fire equipments, the total investment of these is estimated to number 7.64 million yuan.
