On the morning of February 25, CSG production line of photoelectric glass with a total investment of 0.32 billion RMB yuan has been officially initiated at Xiaoting District. Huang Chuping, Member of Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Yichang Municipal Party Committee, Ma Xuming, Mayor and Vice Secretary of Yichang Municipal Party Committee, and Zeng Nan, President and CEO of CSG, touched the crystal ball together and initiated the production line. It indicates that all the core industries of CSG have settled in Yichang, which signifies a significant stride for the development of advanced material industry in Yichang.

　　The first phase of the project, launched in February, 2013, occupies an area of about 147.3 km2. When it is put into operation, it is estimated to produce ultra-thin photoelectric glass of 350 thousand tons per year, and its annual value of production is expected to reach 0.3 billion RMB yuan, and the annual tax payment over 50 million RMB yuan.

　　Zhang Fan, Vice President of CSG and President of Sheet Glass Division, said that once the project goes into operation, it will produce the ultra-thin photoelectric glass with the thickness of 0.3 mm to 1.1 mm, which is on the par with the top international level. The success has been earned by years of technology exploration and persistent researches conducted by CSG. The project, with Yichang CSG Display Device Limited Company, will form an extended industry chain, which can make for the shortage of high-end glass substrate in China and occupy the domestic high-end market of ultra-thin glass.

　　Zeng Nan claimed that he would continue following the principle of “pursuing excellence” to build Yichang CSG Photoelectric Glass Limited Company into the first-rate enterprise producing ultra-thin electronic glass, creating more revenue for CSG and facilitating the social and economic development of Yichang as well.

　　After the ceremony, Huang Chuping, Ma Xuming and the related participants visited the workshop to know more about the production process while listening to the relevant introduction. According to Zeng Nan, the tin bath area is an independent research item of CSG Holding Co., Ltd.. Huang Chuping appraised CSG not only for the miracles and speed it has achieved after its investment in Yichang, but also for its innovation-driven restructuring and development mode. He hoped that CSG could speed up its development, striving to be bigger and stronger so that it can become a new accelerator of Yichang economic growth and pave the way for Yichang to be the leading city in Hubei Province in deepening all-round reform and transforming development mode.

　　The reporter on the spot saw that everything is clean and tidy inside the workshop, and outside it there is no towering chimney, smoke or odor either. It is learned that the emissions of the company is far below the national standard, which indicates that the company takes the lead in being environment-friendly compared with many other companies in the same industry. “This project, featuring high technology and strong competitiveness, is a key project of Yichang new materials industry, and a groundbreaking one in Central China as well." Yang Meiren, Director of Yichang High-tech Zone Administration Committee, said that they would continue improving the services for project and the investment environment, in order to build a bigger, better and stronger CSG.

　　After thirty years’ development, CSG now has four core industries including flat glass, construction glass, solar and display device. Having completed the national industrial layout, upgrading and restructuring, the company now focuses on the development of ultra-thin microelectronics glass which is widely used in the fields such as mobile communication terminal, flat panel display, touch screen and solar power.
