On March 6, Yichang Forestry Work Conference was held.

　　In 2014, 200,000 mu (15 mu is 1 hectare) of forest will be completed according to the municipal planning; 100,000 mu of low production forest will be improved and 600,000 mu of forest will be tended; according to the second phase of Tianbao Project, 11,660,000 mu forest management and protection and 134,000 mu construction of public welfare forest will be completed and the compensation funds for 7.66 million mu of ecological public welfare forest will be paid; investment of various forestry projects will reach over 400 million RMB; the products of major economic forestry will reach 2.9 million tons; the rate of fire-affected forest should be kept under 0.3‰; hazard rate under 3.2‰.

　　It is stressed that greening planning should be firmly implemented to advance the urban and rural ecological construction. The concept of ecological red line should be firmly established to strengthen the forest resource management. By building the protective eco-screen for the Three Gorges, new original major projects and feature projects to strengthen future development potential of forestry should be built. The characteristic forestry industry of unconventional fashion should be established to accelerate the speed of forestation, to benefit people and increase the social contribution rate of forestry.
