Recently, a new ro/ro ship route from Yichang to Zhong County in Chongqing on the Yangtze River was officially opened, with 8 ro/ro ships and 295 parking spaces. It is 370 km long, 22 hours one-way sail.
　　Van drivers from Hubei Province to Sichuan, Chongqing and other places used to choose Hurong (Shanghai-Chengdu), Huyu (Shanghai-Chongqing) highways or 318 National Road. However, the cost is high since there are many tunnels and bridges on both highways. In addition, poor road conditions of 318 National Road make people concerned about the safety. With the opening of the Yichang-Zhong County route, the advantages of the new route such as being low cost, low fuel consumption, low wear, safe and convenient will be realized. (Reporter Zhao Feng)
