According to Yichang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Yichang has been approved as one of 30 national-level e-commerce model cities, which was jointly announced by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce and the other related ministries. Xiangyang is the other city in Hubei Province that has won the same honor.

　　It is learned that Yichang municipal government had made great efforts to get the approval, including improving the e-commerce regulations and policies environment, perfecting e-commerce supporting system, strengthening the security of e-commerce infrastructure and trading facilities, actively fostering e-commerce services, and deepening the e-commerce applications. The Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Bureau of Commerce and the other related departments have been actively involved in preparing for the application and promoting the development of e-commerce industry, which has greatly helped Yichang to become one of the national e-commerce model cities.
