On April 8, the reporter learned from Yichang Municipal Bureau of Commerce that the second batch of 30 national e-commerce model cities were identified by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce and other five departments a few days ago. Yichang was on the list, which added a new impetus to e-commerce industrial development in Yichang .

　　According to Deng Tengfei from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the second batch has been selected officially since August 2013. Candidates must meet one of three requirements: national top 100 cities of economy, national top 100 cities of e-business development index, larger cities with local legislative power or pilot cities of comprehensive reform for international trade approved by the State Council. Yichang has witnessed a rapid economic development and e-commerce has kept going ahead steadily in recent years. Yichang ranked 66th out of national top 100 cities of economy and became one of 40 candidates for the national top 100 cities of e-business development index released by the National Development and Reform Commission the other day.

　　It is reported that there are only 53 national e-commerce cities so far. 23 cities like Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Chongqing, were awarded the first batch of national e-commerce model cities. As a national model city, Yichang will boost e-commerce industry next. The Municipal Bureau of Commerce made a Project Team Work Plan to Promote E-commerce Industry and will spend three years in promoting and perfecting the supporting policy system to make breakthroughs in e-commerce development in Yichang.

　　According to Deng, Yichang will conform to the characteristics of e-commerce industry, seize its base, popularize and apply key projects and make policies based on project construction in the Work Plan. Yichang will size up the situation, figure out the direction and participate in development planning; focus on leading industrial enterprises, agricultural enterprises and trade circulation enterprises to popularize e-commerce and recommend sized enterprises in urban and economically developed counties to develop e-commerce; introduce famous domestic e-commerce enterprises and help them become bigger and stronger, drive some industries and qualified enterprises to build e-commerce platform, accelerate e-business park construction and gather big data and industries; make fund enforcement regulations and using procedures to promote e-commerce development, meanwhile build national, provincial and municipal e-commerce model enterprises.
