Yichang’s Deposit & Loan Rank 1st in Hubei

  On April 19, the reporters learned from the first quarterly economic analysis conference that in the first quarter of 2014, the deposit and loan, resident income and the industrial enterprises below the designated size stably increased in Yichang.

  The reporters further learned that, the deposit and loan balances in Yichang continued to be the first among all cities and all prefectures in Hubei Province (excluding Wuhan), the deposit balance was 21.2 billion RMB higher and the loan balance was 52.79 billion RMB higher than those of the second city, Xiangyang City. In the first quarter of this year, the disposable income of the urban residents rose by around 9% and the per capita cash income of rural residents rose by about 11.5 %. The net income of urban and rural residents was around 6,050 RMB and around 3,170 RMB respectively. The wage income of urban residents in Yichang City in the first quarter of this year rose rapidly; the self-employed and other private businesses were active and the income from household business increased significantly; and the pension income grew steadily. The migrant income of peasants in Yichang maintained a sustained and rapid growth and the income of the local agricultural products increased steadily.

  From this year, the tourist economy is good and the tourist industry continues with a rapid growth. In the first quarter, 8,583,000 domestic and foreign tourists visited the city, with year-on-year growth of 25.3%; and the total tourism income was 6.39 billion RMB, with year-on-year growth of 30.4%. The key projects of urban construction were launched and promoted. The development of construction industry is stable and the real estates increase by a large margin. The supply of water and gas is also steady. The industrial enterprises above the designated size reached 1380, an increase of 156 over the end of previous year. In addition, due to suppression of high-end domestic consumption, the major liquor-making enterprises in Yichang City oriented towards the mid-range consumer market to increase sales efforts, making the liquor production up 12.5%.
