As of 18:00 May 1st, 138,000 tourists visited 8 statistical scenic spots in Yichang, up 125% year on year.

　　Statistics released by the Holiday Office of Yichang Tourism Bureau shows that 19,000 tourists visited the Three Gorges Dam. 27,500 tourists came to the Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Spot. The Qingjiang River Gallery Scenic Resort received 23,400 tourists. The Xiakou Scenic Resort received 17,000 tourists. 18,000 tourists went to the Chexi Folk Custom Tour Site. The Great Falls received 19,100 tourists. 6,800 tourists visited Qu Yuan\'s Hometown (the Phoenix Mountain). The Grand Canyon of Chaibuxi River Tour Site received 7,600 tourists. In most scenic spots of Yichang, the number of tourists increased by a big margin on the 1st May Day compared with the same period last year. The number of tourists visiting the Chexi Folk Custom Tour Site increased 9 times than the same period last year, which topped the list of scenic resorts in Yichang.

　　63,000 Passengers Safely Transported in Holiday

　　On May 1st, according to statistics from Yichang East Railway Station and Yichang Passenger Transportation Center, 63,000 passengers were safely transported during the first day of the May Day holidays. Rail passengers increased 22% over last year.

　　It is learned that 40,534 passengers were set out from Yichang East Railway Station on that day. Among them, 22,503 passengers were set out by bullet train, increased 7,468 compared with last year and up 22.6% year on year. 23,000 passengers were set out from Yichang Passenger Transportation Center and Yichang Coach Station. The passengers mainly headed for Yidu, Changyang, Dangyang and Wufeng. The middle and long distance passengers mainly left for Muyu, the Three Gorges Dam and Gongan.

　　From May 1st, the Yichang Passenger Transportation Center added bus lines from Yichang to Jingmen. The bus set out from Yichang to Jingmen every 45 minutes.

　　East Valley of Moji Hill Park Open to Tourists

　　The three-day holiday was too short that many citizens gave up their faraway travel. The Moji Hill and other scenic spots in Yichang became their choices. Yesterday, it was learned from the reporters that many cars parked at the gate of the scenic spot and tourists were enjoying the beautiful scenery and climbing the hill.

　　At a turn of Yiling Yangtze River Bridge lies the east valley scenic spot which was newly reconstructed. At present, the asphalt road has been paved. The scenic spot was formally opened yesterday. In all the scenic spots, the “flower sea” laid by various flowers was the most beautiful one. The widely known scenic skywalk, which will be open in the near future, is under construction. Although there were many tourists, the tourism was orderly.
