On May 7, the press conference of "2014 Dragon Boat Cultural Festival in Qu Yuan\'s Hometown" was held in Wuhan. The leaders from The Poetry Institute of China, the Taiwan Affairs Office in Hubei, Provincial Department of Culture, Provincial Government Information Office, Yichang Municipal Government and Zigui County Government attended the conference and answered questions from reporters. Wang Yinghua, Deputy Mayor of Yichang, introduced the Dragon Boat Cultural Festival to about 40 media.

　　With the theme of "Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, Poetic Yichang", it is the only national cultural activity held by the Ministry of Culture to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, cosponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Hubei Provincial Government, and operated by Intangible Cultural Heritage Department in the Ministry of Culture, The Poetry Institute of China, Hubei Provincial Department of Culture, the Taiwan Affairs Office in Hubei and Yichang Municipal Government.

　　Yichang will see the award ceremony of "China Qu Yuan Poetry Prize" and the Poetry Party during the Dragon Boat Festival on the evening of May 29. Famous cultural masters and poets like Wang Meng, Xie Mian, Zheng Xinmiao, Shu Ting and Zhai Xuan will visit Yichang. Zigui, Qu Yuan\'s hometown, will witness the opening ceremony of "2014 Dragon Boat Cultural Festival" and the Dragon Boat Race on May 30. The city will highlight the features of "thrifty festival celebration", "cultural projects beneficial to people”, “poetic Yichang” and "promoting construction and changes with the festival", and strive to observe Dragon Boat Cultural Festival as a classic cultural event of “Yichang’s feature, national level and influence in the world ".
