On March 30, the first made-in-Yichang car rolled off the line in the workshop of GAC-ZX Auto Co., Ltd (Yichang) and the dream of car production in Yichang set sail.

　　These landmark events of Yichang not only reflect the achievements in its development, but also will be written in the history of a rising megacity.

　　Leaders of the Party Committee in Hubei Province also pay attention to the development of Yichang. On April 3, Li Hongzhong, Secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the CPC, visited Yichang and spoke highly of Yichang people devotion in overcoming difficulties and developing in a scientific and green way. Li hoped that Yichang would be standing at the forefront in deepening reform and development among other cities in Hubei Province.

　　In the first quarter of this year, Yichang has maintained a good momentum of economic development which is “better than the national and the provincial average”, achieving its steady development.

　　In order to effectively break the bottleneck of enterprise financing, the Bank-Enterprise Key Project Meeting 2014 was held in Yichang City on April 29. During the meeting, 90 enterprises and projects in Yichang signed their credit and loan agreements with 16 banks, totaling 30.9 billion RMB. Among them, 30 agreements were signed on site, totaling 17.5 billion RMB.

　　A group of key projects concerning the upgrading of Yichang have been successfully signed up, such as Hubei Noah Photoelectric LED Industrial Park, with an investment of 3.8 billion RMB, the Yichang Renfu Pharmaceutical Essential Medicine Base, the Three Gorges Packaging Technology Industrial Park as well as the Xiao Tea High and New Technology Industrial Park and so on.

　　Previously, Hubei Bank-Enterprise Key Project Meeting 2014 was held in Wuhan. At the meeting, 5 companies in Yichang signed their loan agreements with six banks, totaling 3.99 billion RMB, accounting for 13.3% and ranking second place among other cities of Hubei Province.

　　In the 2014 Plan of Hubei Provincial Key Construction Projects, 34 items of Yichang are in the list with a total investment of 146.75 billion yuan. 37.85 billion yuan is to be invested in 2014, which accounts for 18% among the whole investment in Hubei province.11 infrastructure projects that people are concerned about are in the construction plan, such as Baoyi (Baokang to Yichang) Expressway, Yichang Urban Road Network, Miaozui Yangtze River Bridge, Xiangxi Yangtze River Highway Bridge and Ziyun Local Railway etc., which was invested 19 billion RMB.

　　In the 2014 Hubei Provincial Key Projects Promotion Plan, 1341 projects of Yichang have been selected and got an investment of 1.241 trillion RMB.

　　2014 is a vital year to build Yichang into a modern megacity. Based on the construction of the Four Platforms, that is, Yichang New District, Yichang High-tech District, the Three Gorges Pivotal Port District and Three Gorges Tourism District, the movement named Major Projects Constructing Year has been initiated and activity like entering enterprises, sending service and solving problems gets effective result.

　　It is the deepening of service concept behind the "visual effect". Currently, major projects construction has turned into "top leadership project " and "Number One Project." Taking this opportunity, the municipal leaders directly serve for the key projects, and department members are involved in putting it into action. A new round of serving for and promoting key projects is on the way.

　　Yichang is under construction. According to the data, in the first quarter of 2014, the fixed asset investment got off to a good start, with its total value ranking the second in the province, accounting for 10.7% of the province. Key projects are all well-developed, among which 30 of the 34 provincial key projects have been launched and 11.6 billion RMB has been invested.
