According to the Municipal Sports Bureau on April 19th, the 2014 China International Karate Open Tournament & National Karate Championships will be held at stadium of Yichang Municipal Sports Center from May 21st to 25th. The participants include 271 Chinese karate players and 153 players from Kazakhstan, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Russia, Australia, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong and other countries or regions.

　　It is reported that the competition is divided into male\'s individual and team groups of senior, junior and children, and female\'s individual and team groups of senior, junior and children. In addition, the 2014 China International Karate Open Tournament will be held between May 21st to 22nd, and the National Karate Championships will be held between May 23rd to 24th.

　　According to reports, the number of karate players in Yichang City has reached to more than 3,000, and many player have gained various honors in National Competitions many times. Therefore this international karate tournament is expected to promote the popularization and development of karate in Yichang and enrich Yichang municipal government’s experience of hosting competition events.
