According to the organizing committee of the Yangtze Three Gorges International Tourism Festival, Wanzhou, where the opening ceremony was held, together with 13 districts and counties including Fuling District, Changshou District, Liangping County, will hold a variety of special activities in the following three months. In addition, these districts and counties will launch together 15 special tourist routes, involving the Three Gorges tour, spring outing tour, leisure tour to the ancient town, and cool summer tour, etc. These special routes will enrich the Three Gorges travel so that it will transform the original sole cruise tour into various ones with different means of transportation in the Three Gorges area. During the Festival, these tourist routes have some special offers for promotion, and the public can follow the prompts to choose their favorite tourist routes.

　　“As the increasingly convenient land transportation of the Yangtze Three Gorges region as well as the rise of self-driving tours and leisure tours, overland tours of the Three Gorges will gradually become an important form of the Three Gorges tour." The related official of Chongqing Municipal Tourism Bureau told reporters that visitors can feel the magnificent Three Gorges better through overland tours. Besides, this kind of tour can show visitors with a wider range of scenery, and provide them with more choices and free time.

　　After the appearance of the new landscape called Gaoxia Pinghu (literally, The Calm River on the Gorge), a number of new tourist attractions have been added to the Yangtze Three Gorges tour in addition to the traditional tourist attractions appreciated on cruise ships, including the would-be large-scale live performance of Zhongxian County called “Three Kingdoms”, Wuling Mountain Great Rift Valley of Fuling District, as well as Hanfeng Lake of Kaixian County. Together with the traditional tourist routes, these new landscapes have become the special and representative tourism products of the “overland self-driving tours” of the Yangtze Three Gorges. The first “Three Gorges Tour” self-driving teams embarked on their “Wanzhou-Wuxi” journey at the spot of the opening ceremony.

　　The organizing committee of the Yangtze Three Gorges Tourism Festival said that, on the basis of the combination of these tourism products, Chongqing tourism marketing center will also design a number of self-drive tourist routes for the “overland tours of the Three Gorges”. These travel routes combined the dining, accommodation, traveling, shopping, entertainment of the northeast area of Chongqing together, so that more tourists at home and abroad can visit and know the Three Gorges better.

　　With the formation of “Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe” international railway route, this new Silk Road links China with the European countries again. At the opening ceremony, the representatives of Chongqing City and German Dusseldorf self-drive car club announced the self-driving route of the new Silk Road, and signed an agreement that they would together promote the developments of the Yangtze Three Gorges tour of Chongqing tourism in the European countries through the “Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe” route in the future cooperation.

　　Cruise, Overland and Airplane Tours of the Three Gorges

　　During the Yangtze Three Gorges International Tourism Festival, the contracts of a total of 28 tourism projects of northeast area of Chongqing were signed together, twelve of which are the cooperation projects between the tourism regions and industries. For instance, People’s Government of Fengjie County signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Fengjie air tour with Chongqing Air General Aviation Ltd., so that people will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Fengjie County and the Three Gorges in the air in the future; 16 overseas travel agencies including Taiwan Hangjia Co., Ltd. have signed a cooperation agreement on inbound group tourism with five cruise companies including Chongqing Gold Cruises; the tourism alliance of the northeast area of Chongqing represented by Chongqing Yangtze River Three Gorges Tourism Development Co., signed an annual one million people tourism marketing cooperation agreement with the branch of self-driving tour of Chongqing Tourism Association.

　　Seeing from these signed agreements we can realize that the future Three Gorges tour will have bright prospect as it turns from the sole cruise tour to a variety of tours made by waterway, air, and land.

　　The world-renowned Three Gorges, the Changjiang River as the golden waterway, and unique Yichang-Wanzhou Railway, have already tightly linked Chongqing, Wanzhou with Yichang. Currently, as the deputy central city of Hubei Province, Yichang is building itself into a modern mega-city. At the same time, Wanzhou is also accelerating the construction of itself as the second largest city of Chongqing and economic center of the Three Gorges Reservoir. As the two important cities of the Yangtze River economic belt, we look forward to a brighter and better Three Gorges tour.
