　　Why does the little yeast can be so successful on the way to the internationalization? On May 14, the reporter went to Angel Biological Industry Park to find the answers.

　　The workers were cleaning and draining the seeding tanks for producing special enzymes in the fermentation workshop of the Product Department of Special Enzyme. In the Central Control Room for Production on the other side, the technologists were having a real-time monitoring on the productive process of the new type of enzyme preparation. According to Zhang Wei, Minster of Product Department of Special Enzyme of Angel, although it’s not long for Angel to enter the field of special enzyme, the series of special enzyme preparation products which were researched and improved by Angel have reached the leading level of the world. Among them, three nuclease products have broken up the international monopoly which has been led by an international brand for a very long time.

　　In recent years, complying with the domestic background that the development of biological industry has been supported in our country, Angel grasped the chance of creating “100 Billion Industry” in food industry, biological industry and medicine industry in our city to build four projects in Yichang High-tech Biological Industrial Park, including new enzyme preparation, biological health food, integrative biological feed and logistics center with an investment of over 500 million RMB. This action has made the field of production of Angle change from traditional yeast industry to the biotechnological industry with longer industrial chain and higher technical content.

　　During the interview, the reporter learned that, as Asia’s largest manufacture of yeast as well as one of the three major yeast manufacturers in the world, Angel formed strategic alliances and strategic partnerships with some biotechnological enterprises in Europe on its way towards internationalization. Meanwhile, Angel also employed a large number of international well-known yeast specialists, such as Rosenborg, Tilak, He Chongyue and so on.

　　Currently, Angel has chaired or participated in the developments of more than ten national standards and industrial standards, becoming the first or the only drafting unit of The Standards of Yeast in Food Processing, The Standards of Extracts of Yeast, The Standards of Feed Additives Yeast and Brewing Yeast (instant active dry yeast) .

　　Among all products of Angel, more than 95% are self-owned brands with independent intelligent property rights. Seven of them have won the Science and Technology Progress Award at or above the provincial level; 223 of them have obtained the national patents. A large number of products have reached the international advanced level, and all these products have applied for international patents in Europe, American, Asia and some main export areas.

　　High-concentration mash fermentation of alcohol is the most advanced technology in international yeast industry. One of the “Top 500 Enterprises of America” was so shocked when the “High Thermo stable Brewing Yeast” which has met with the production requirements of industrial alcohol entered Brazil and America and other large producers of fuel ethanol. “Brand is the core competitive power of the company. In recent years, we have always popularized the exports together with the concept ‘Taking off in China’. It is hard, but we have made it to the end.” Yu Xuefeng, Chairman of Angel Group said.

　　Getting big pharmaceutical business orders by new technology

　　On May 8, the reporter came to the production base of export medicines of Yichang Ren Fu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd in Biological Industrial Park of Yichang High-tech Zone. This production base is one of the three bases of Yichang Ren Fu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd – the world leading enterprise in the manufacture of anesthetic. With the strong support of Yichang High-tech Zone, the water, electricity and gas are all readily available here. The new viewing deck is built for workers of in parks and zones to have a rest.

　　R & D laboratory analysis, quality control laboratory and OSD workshop were full of high-tech atmosphere. India and American experts walked through those places from time to time.

　　Pharmaceutical export plan of Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd began three years ago. Different from the company\'s traditional leading products - anesthetic agents which mainly target  at domestic market, the tablet and oral liquids of treating cardiovascular diseases mainly compete in the international market. Li Junhui said the installment of the process equipment has basically been finished in the base and parts of laboratory instruments has completed verification and are to be confirmed, which is expected to be put into operation during the year.

　　Yu Qun, the vice president at Yichang Ren Fu Pharmaceutical Co., told reporters that the base has received three large supply orders from the U.S. and the UK. It also means that although we have not yet put into production, but 80% of a production capacity of the first phase has been put in place.

　　Referring to the key to be favored in the international markets and the orders from Europe and America, Yu said confidently: We choose equipments, process and recipes in the light of the top international standards. Currently, the management team of the base consists of 65% of expatriates and employees returning from overseas and six Chinese American experts with first-class level in the pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical technology and analysis. "

　　"Last year, after a foreign company visited the base, it showed the willingness to spend 1.2 billion RMB to buy this plant. However we decisively rejected." Yu said that according to the plan, the export base will reach a total annual capacity of five billion RMB/ tablets and two billion of annual sales income.

　　By then, Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., will officially step towards the establishment of an international multinational pharmaceutical company and return the expectation from high-tech zones and Yichang people.

　　"Going out" is the "strong support" for business internationalization.

　　During the interview, the two companies have been referred to as the strong support of high-tech zone of Yichang in terms of capital, technology and land policies and the like. During the return journey, the reporter received a piece of good news from Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd that a "containing Holocaine compound for the treatment of colds pharmaceutical preparations" and other three patents just got authentication and authorization.

　　According to the information, in recent years, high-tech zones in Yichang actively guided enterprises to participate in the national park high-tech industrialization projects, and 567 major projects in Hubei Province , obtaining more than 1500 patents.

　　All kinds of technical standards and industrial norms drafted by the Angel Group, Xingfa Group, Yihua Group, 710 Institute, Three Gorges University, and published by State or industries amounted to 60 items. The scientific and technological achievements have reached more than 1000, in which more than 300 achievements have obtained the provincial and ministerial awards.

　　Some companies have become the constitutors of the national standards or industry standards. A large number of enterprises in high-tech zones in Yichang possess domestic first-class production technology and advanced products in the international and domestic market, occupying an important international position. Up to now, high-tech zones in Yichang have gathered 103 national high-tech enterprises. The region has four "first in world”, three "first in Asia" and six "first in the country."
