The 3rd Yichang Int’l Rafting Competition Starts on June 15

  The first group of professional competitors will set forth from the rafting courses in Chaotianhou Scenic Area, Xingshan County at 10 o’clock, June 15, kicking off the 2014 China Yichang International Rafting Competition in natural waters.

  It is learnt from the organizing committee that the preparatory work of this competition has now entered its final stage. Emergency medical service and security are all set. And all the related facilities in the scenic area have been overhauled. What’s more, there is a new reservoir this year, and multiple functional facilities were added along the 6,000-meter-long course.

  Teams from America, Serbia, New Zealand, Hungary and Canada will take part in the competition. The two competitors from Serbia are female who stood out in many international professional competitions. Six domestic teams from Beijing, Shandong, Guizhou and other provinces will also participate in the competition. By then, 11 professional teams will wade through many shoals and rapids to compete for their places. And up to now, about 200 amateurs confirmed to join the competition.

  According to some information, the top 20 amateur teams will be rewarded with two rafting tickets (valid before 2015). Now people can still sign up for the competition.
