Yichang Applies for Pension Pilot City

  The reporter learned from the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau that, the city has been actively applying the National Pension Service Reform Pilot City to vigorously promote the further development of the pension service industry, which has made new advances in the community to expand the coverage rate of pension service, regular the institution-based care service for the aged and make the scientific planning of the layout of the pension service.

  So far, we are supervising 128 newly-built urban community pension service centers and 150 rural mutual care activity centers, intensifying the inspection and supervision on-site and promoting the progress of center construction. Meanwhile, we verified and issued pension agency licenses again for 66 pension agencies, aiming at regulating the registration permit and operation and service of pension agencies.

  In June, the Municipal vocational skills competition for nursing assistants held by the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau jointly with the Federation of Trade Union and the Woman’s Federation further stimulates and guides the assistants to learn skills, comprehensively increasing the overall skills of the nursing assistants for the aged in the city.

  Meanwhile, they have sought out the government’s attention and planning department’s support, adapted and modified Yichang Central Urban Pension Service Facility Planning (2013-2030). According to the planning, 93.55 hectares land will be used as pension agency, 17 pension agencies will be built, possessing 26,000 beds.
