The white and yellow lilies blossom at the foot of the Taiyangshan Mountain makes a sea of lilies along the Huangbo River in Xiaping Village, Yiling District. Yichang Lily Industry Association (YLIA), which is formed under the coordination of Hubei Changda Taiyangshan Tourism Company, will build Yichang Lily Cultural Industry Park (YLCIP) at the foot of Taiyang Mountain, according to Qin Xianshou, the secretary general of YLIA.

　　Lily is a kind of health food as well as traditional Chinese medicine in common use. YLCIP has planted about 3.33 hectares of lilies for experiment. To provide technical support for the development of local lily industry, YLCIP has built research base along with the Chinese Academic of Agricultural Science, Wuhan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Huazhong Agricultural University and so on. In the second half of this year, the construction of Yichang Lily Cultural Industry Park will be started, which will take a total area of 20 hectares. YLIA will make the most of local lily resource and the economic, cultural and ecological value of it. Based on the large base of lily and the construction of Yichang local lily industry, YLIA is forming a new industry with long chain and high added value in rural areas, starting with the development of wedding photography, wedding vacation, creative cultures, specialty catering of local lily and healthy drinks that are made from lily.

　　And according to related sources, authorized by Yichang Municipal Agricultural Bureau and Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, Yichang Lily Industry Association will register Yichang local lily as national geographical indication product.  (Reporter: Jin Guiman)
