It is learned from Municipal Bureau of Transport that the city has invested a fixed investment of 6.1 billion RMB into traffic including highways, waterways and logistics in the first half of this year. It is estimated that transit projects would absorb an investment of 11 billion RMB in 2014.

　　A transport hub is under construction. 4 expressways under construction have a total mileage of 367 km. Now the main section of Yiba (Yichang-Badong) Expressway is open to traffic and the dominant project of Jieling Tunnel makes breakthroughs; the major project of Baoyi (Baokang-Yichang) Expressway has been completed; on Yizhang (Yichang-Zhangjiajie) Expressway, 87% of Dangyang-Zhijiang roadbed construction has been finished and Yidu-Wufeng section is under construction; the construction of Yiyue (Yichang-Yueyang) Expressway has started. Key harbors of Three Gorges Hub Port are under construction. Water conservancy projects of No.1 and No.2 Berth have been finished basically at the first construction phase of Baiyang Harbor. Water conservancy and land-based project are carried out at the second construction phase of Maping Harbor. Yichang-Taichung Flight, Yichang-Kaohsiung Flight, Yichang-Chongqing Railway and Yichang-Chengdu Railway perfect the stereoscopic traffic network through water, land and air. Yichang has a more smooth external transport.

　　Better service makes more convenient public transportation. 3.25 billion RMB has been put into local transit, increasing 15% year on year. 10 first-class 235-km highways are under construction. In the first half, 12 urban bus routes have been added. Smart technology like "MyBus" is put into use successfully. These make public transport more convenient. First inter-city bus in Yichang goes into operation. Buses are applied to 3 routes from urban to rural areas. 9 added administrative villages get access to passenger cars. The goal that all administrative villages have access to passenger cars has been achieved a year earlier. Dangyang Bus Passenger Station has been completed. Zigui, Wufeng and Changyang Bus Passenger Station have entered preliminary work.

The number of passengers, freights and logistics has seen a rapid growth in the first half year. 500 million RMB has been put into passenger and freight stations, accounting for 83% in the annual program. Railways in the city have seen a passenger number of 4.14 million, up 25% year on year. Sanxia Airport has accepted a passenger throughput of 558,000, up 34% year on year. Highways and waterways have received a passenger volume of 50.45 million and a passenger person-kilometer of 2.4 billion, up 7% and 18% respectively year on year. The whole volume of freights has reached 61.4 million tons on highways and waterways and rotation volume of goods transport 23.6 billion ton-kilometers, up 38% and 41% respectively year on year.
