According to Xinhua News Agency, Chicago, July 23 - Sheldon Lavin, Chairman and CEO of U.S OSI Group, issued a statement of apology for selling expired meat on its official website on July 23. He asserted: “What happened at Husi Shanghai is completely unacceptable. I will not  defend it or find any excuse for it.”
　　Lavin said in the statement, “It was terribly wrong, and I am appalled that it ever happened in the company that I own. On behalf of Husi and OSI, I sincerely apologize to all of our customers in China. We will bear the responsibility of these missteps, and will make sure that they never happen again. That is my commitment as well as the group’s commitment. ”
　　In the statement, he said that upon hearing of the Shanghai issue, he immediately sent their best team of global experts from the OSI Group, and more are on their way. In addition, Lavin said he was pleased that Chinese authorities have inspected their other facilities and have not found any problems. (Reporter: Xu Jing)
