　　In the planning sketch, one can easily find a yellow structure: two rectangular buildings surrounded by four irregular cone buildings, which fulfills the function of the exhibition halls, warehouses, service center, administration, ancillary service area and parking lots. Meanwhile, in accordance with the concept of "designing Yichang in an ecological way", the whole museum is built in light of Yichang’s local features of green mountains and rivers, filled with charm of modern city.

　　When completed, the museum will become a new tourist attraction and a place to learn about the city’s construction and development.

　　On January 7th, the Planning Museum was made as a key public construction project and under the guide of the "four firsts", the project officially started; pile foundations were laid; the main buildings are under construction ……all these fast steps urge the future city window to move forward.

　　"We will accelerate the speed of construction and strive to open the museum to the public by the end of the year!" Ma Xuming, Mayor and Deputy Director of Municipal Party Committee, said to Xia Wenhan, Director of Municipal Planning Bureau during an inspection.

　　Determined to realize fast, safe and good construction and development, Yichang New District Office will especially supervise the project and continue to accelerate the project with the rapid changes.

　　According to Zhang Zhenjun, the executive manager of this project, 70% of the main project at present has been completed and the main structure will be finished on August 10th. In December, the "green veil" will disappear and a new museum will embrace the New Year.

　　Building New Yichang Museum to create the cultural New District

　　This cultural treasure house, located in Yichang East Railway Station Area, next to the Planning Museum, east of Jiangnan No.2 Road, south of Dianjun Avenue, west of Paifangpo Road, north of Jiangjun Road, covers an area of ??approximately 49.5 acres with a total construction area of ??about 33,000 square meters and a total investment of about 300 million yuan. “Ba and Chu culture merges into the design style and inner decoration. Besides, the facilities in the museum enjoy the highest standard of museums in China.” Xia Nigang, the Deputy Director of Yichang Museum said during an inspection visit to the construction site on July 23th.

　　These unique cultural characteristics make the entire building majestic and special. The brown striped fa?ade and Ba and Chu cultural symbols correspond with the distant ancient rain worship platform and achieve the harmony between nature and human beings.

　　In addition, as a comprehensive museum, the new Yichang Museum includes exhibition halls, warehouses, service center, administration, ancillary service area and parking lots. Apart from the old museum’s function, it also has the function to better display Yichang intangible cultural heritage, geology and geomorphology, which effectively promote the cultural exchange and offer a new window to understand Yichang’s history and culture.

　　Since the official start on January 7th, New Yichang Museum becomes the focus of attention. Today, people can see project piles towering and hear machines roaring at the busy construction sites. “In August, we will enter the main construction phase, and spare no efforts to finish it by the end of this year to ensure that by 2016, the museum can open to the public."Fang Jian, represent of the construction company said.

　　Build Olympic Sports Center to construct New District of sports

　　On November 12th last year, when Li Xinhua, the director of Jinzhou Party Committee, paid a visit to the demonstration hall of Yichang New District and saw the Olympic Sports Center Model shining among the green mountains and river in the sandbox, he said "I am deeply impressed by the huge investment in the public construction projects to improve public services " .

　　A dream city not only requires prosperous commerce and developed culture, but also sound public services. Now Yichang is limited in sports resources and cannot undertake large domestic and international events. However, the Olympic Sports Center in Dianjun District will change the situation.

　　The 2.325 billion yuan project is located at the east of Jiangnan No.2 Road, south of Dianjun Avenue, west of Paifangpo road, north of Jiangjun Road, and covers an area of ??about 1425 acres with a total construction area of ??206,000 square meters.

　　Seen from above, the white and round pavilion of Olympic Sports Center is particularly eye-catching in the sandbox of Yichang New District. It looks like been made of feathers, which can accommodate 40,000 people. The three oval-shaped buildings, including a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a badminton and tennis center, and a shooting hall, together with the energy center, car parks, sports park and supporting business, will become a new landmark in Yichang.

　　Last year, Yichang New District implemented the “rural land contract policy", which aroused governments’ construction enthusiasm. Before January, Dianjun Government has completed the demolition and made the project officially started on January 7th.

　　With the successful completion of the preliminary preparations, at the construction site of Olympic Sports Center, pile foundation construction project has been successfully completed and the construction fence has been outlined around the Sports Center. In addition, as the construction of the main avenues like Dianjun Avenue and Jiangnan Avenue, large equipment and materials can be transported to promote the main construction. "According to the planning, Olympic Sports Center will be completed and opened to the public in 2016." Xiong Cheng, who is responsible for the construction said.
