When walking on the streets of Yichang, you can find the trees making a pleasant shade and enjoy the lush leaves. Mojishan Mountain Park now has more Perse and well arranged natural vegetation after the reform. Cherry trees, camphor trees, Koelreuteria trees planted in recent years have grown up. Jiangnan Avenue, Wulong Avenue, Chengdong Avenue…where there are new road networks, there are green ecological corridors. “As a comfortable and prosperous city, we shall stick to the idea of ecology and start by planting trees and flowers to make the citizens see green hills and blue waters everywhere. ” On February 20th, 2013, Huang Chuping, member of Provincial Party Committee, secretary of Municipal Party Committee, emphasized at Xiaoqiuyushan Mountain when planting trees there that the leaders from all levels should take the lead to make sure that economy development interacts with ecological construction healthily.     
　　In the construction of Yichang New District, the Municipal Party Committee, the municipal government put forward a batch of ecological construction projects such as the reconstruction of Mojishan Mountain and Doangshan Park, the Construction of Chengdong Park, Qiuyutai Park, the repair of the area along the canal. The process of the New District construction not only demonstrated the strong steps Yichang took to build the modern magnificent giant city but also manifested the decorous mountains, flexible waters and evergreen vigor the city has.
　　Practice the ecology theory to build the green Yichang New District
　　Favorable ecological environment is the foundation and support for the construction of the new district
　　When putting forward the construction of the new district, the Municipal Party Committee, and the municipal government initiated the landscape engineering and the reorganization of the city to build a green city where people can watch the mountains, enjoy the waters and memorize the homesickness.
　　During more than one year, the landscape engineering has been synchronously carried out with the construction of the New District and gained remarkable achievement. The ecological theory has been rooted in the construction of the New District.  
　　In order to make way for the BRT, 500 plane trees used to grow along the two sides of Chengdong Avenue have been relocated in the Biological Industry Park of Yichang New District this April.
　　These plane trees have now sprouted and glow with vitality. In the future, between the plane trees, brick roads will be rolled out and small trees and shrubs will be planted, all of which will form a plane tree ornamental belt covering 70,000 square meters, almost twice the size of the green area of Yiling Square in the city.  
　　The construction theory of protecting the ecological environment first is not accidental. After going across Dongshan tunnel, you reach Fazhan Avenue, the arterial road as the new development direction of the “Big city dream” of Yichang city. Along the avenue flourishing with each passing day, all kinds of hotels, stores, housing estates are standing in great numbers; you can vaguely hear the whisper of the leaves when the fresh breeze blows gently. When you walk along the avenue, green plants will company you wherever you go wherever the avenue stretches.       
　　Zhong Shitian, Director of the Agriculture and Forestry and Water Bureau, Xiling District, said that the landscape engineering along Fazhan Avenue is the major project of the landscape upgrade of Xiling District. In the expanding city area, “forest” has always been the visiting card of the city to accomplish the dream.
　　During the construction of Huaxi Road in Wujiagang District, Yichang New District abandoned the old plan of building straight and flat road networks for the city but decided to follow the terrain to construct this arterial road with Yichang characteristic of high and low, up and down to protect the ecological environment of the city and it saved nearly 80 million RMB of the construction cost.
　　Remodel Mojishan Park to build the green landmark of the city
　　Mojishan Park in Dianjun, the ecological new city, used to bear the homesick memory of people from Yichang. Today, the newly upgraded Mojishan Park has been attracting citizens and visitors with its new look and adding energy and vigor to the development of the New District.
