On August 19, Wang, a truck driver from Jingzhou was arrested when pretending to be a serviceman to defraud females. According to the preliminary investigation of Xiangyang Police Station of Wujiagang Public Security Bureau, since the end of 2008, Wang has cheated three females in Yichang and Wuhan. A female white-collar from Yichang has been cheated more than 470,000 yuan. Now, the following is the case.
A military officer boyfriend
On April 25, 2013, Zhu, a female white-collar in Dangyang, working in Yichang came to Xiangyang Police Station. She said that she was cheated more than 470,000 yuan over four years by Wang and also provided plenty of clues and evidence.
Zhu said that she met a person online at the end of 2008 and got along very well and then became good friends. After that, her friend knew that she was fond of serviceman since she was a child, and that she had no boyfriend, so he told her that he could introduce a military officer named Wang to be her boyfriend.
A few days later, her net friend with a military officer in Major military uniform came to Yichang. Then, the Major became Zhu’s boyfriend.
A girl in love
After they committed to a romantic relationship, Wang said that he contracted a project and needed money to pay workers’ salary. Therefore, he borrowed 130,000 yuan from Zhu and wrote an IOU note to her.
In the following four years, Wang kept borrowing money from Zhu with various excuses.
When Wang wanted to borrow money, Zhu told herself that they were in a relationship, and after they got married, they would share their money together, so she always let it be.
In August, 2009, Wang told Zhu that he was promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel, Deputy Chief of Staff.
In the Spring Festival of 2013, they planned to get married. Zhu’s parents were satisfied with her fiancé. During the Spring Festival, Wang even visited Zhu’s relatives and friends in Lieutenant Colonel military uniform.
Favorable husband turned out to be a jobless man
One day in April, 2013, Zhu and her girlfriend went shopping in a shopping mall. Zhu didn’t buy anything expensive though she was fond of those beautiful clothes. Her girlfriend joked: “Since you have found a rich Military Officer, why don’t you spend some money on those beautiful clothes?”
Zhu told her girlfriend that Wang was doing big business which needed lots of circulating funds. Now, he was in some financial trouble. In order to support his career, she has lent all her savings to him. Hearing her story, Zhu\'s girlfriend was skeptical and told her he could be a liar.
Zhu was alarmed by her girlfriend. Then she went to the so-called garrison in Wuhan, but she was told that no army was stationed there. When she called Wang to question him, Wang spoke with hesitation and then hang up. As soon as Zhu came back to Yichang, she called police and reported the crime.
Four years, 470,000 yuan
Zhu has a habit of recording all QQ chat records, calling records, phone bills and bank transferring bills. Originally, she kept all these to memorize the sweetness during their relationship for their marriage. Now, all of these materials have become important clues and evidence for the police.
On September 15, 2013, Xiangyang Police Station registered and investigated the case. On July 3, 2014, Wang was wanted on the Internet for pretending to be the serviceman. On August 5, Wang was arrested in a bank by Wuhan police when he dealt with bank business and then he was transferred to Yichang police. When he was under arrest, he confessed everything. He confessed that he cheated on three girls at the same time, including two girls from Wuhan.
After investigating, the police learnt that Wang was a 43 years old truck driver in Jingzhou, living in a village. His son and daughter have families of their own. Wang didn’t have contact with his family for many years. Since the end of 2008, Wang cheated on the victim Zhu by using fake military car, uniforms, certificate of officer, identities and became her boyfriend. From January of 2009 to February of 2013, Wang has cheated out of over 470,000 yuan from Zhu for more than one hundred times. It was 50 yuan or up to 130,000 yuan.
