Project Profile: The culture of Three Kingdoms is an important part of Yichang historical culture, as well as a new growth point of modern tourism development project. In the west of Dangyang central area, the construction of the World of Guangong has entered a crucial phase. As the key culture tourism development project, covering 1,650 mu (40.8 acre) with five billion total investment, it is a comprehensive culture tourism development project, themed on modern tourism and Guangong culture.

　　On August 19, reporter came to the construction site of the project. Not far from the central area of Dangyang, a gilt statue of Guangong drew our attention. It took a few minutes to the statue. While walking on the lane, we found the scenery was very beautiful and away from the hustle and bustle of city. Guo Chunxi, an officer of Dangyang Travel Bureau, said: “The culture of Guangong is the soul of this project, so, the whole tourism park was designed and planed around it.” A 59-meters statue of Guangong, designed by China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research and Tsinghua University, stands in the center of the park and becomes a landmark. Around the statue, the tourism park has two theme axes: Guangong Culture Worship Area and Caishen Avenue. 300 mu of lake ecology Dragon crescent moon includes four plates and eight supporting function areas: Guangong Culture Worship Area, Modern Tourism, Chu Ethnic Business District, Spa Resort Area, Culture Experience, Experience Waterfront Tourist Area and Commercial District.

　　The project was signed on May 13, 2012 and was started on May 31, 2013. Up to now, 0.6 billion yuan investment has been completed. Within a year, under the cooperation of all parties, 1,290 mu lands were leveled, and the dredging, sanding, revetment and slop protection project were completed. Outlet has settled down in the brands exhibition center. Both project investment and construction made great strides. Lao Huang is a farmer who lives not far from the project construction site. He said: “The development of the project is so fast that it changes the look of this desert place within a few months.” In the mid- and late of June, he even brought his friends to attend the First “King-Long” Beer Festival in the newly constructed commercial district, which impressed him greatly. “There are already thousands of tourists before it is even completed. What about the day when it is finished?”

　　In 2014, one billion yuan investment will be completed according to the park plan. By the end of this year, it is estimated that Guangong Culture Worship Area, Experience Waterfront Tourist Area and Wusheng Commercial District will be accomplished and opened to the outside. After the accomplishment of the project, it will receive 3 million visitors each year, realize tax 200 million yuan and provide 2,500 jobs, pulling the culture tourism industry of Dangyang, even that of the whole province.
