On October 17th, the meeting for the preparation of the Fourth China Yichang Yangtze River Piano Festival—the First Arts Festival in Yichang was held to make further deployment. Wang Xingyu, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, noted that the festival must focus on the theme of "art festival, cultural Yichang" and highlight that culture benefit citizens. In addition, the festival must be organized efficiently, scientifically, carefully and orderly to ensure a complete success.
　　The 4th China Yichang Yangtze River Piano Festival—First Arts Festival in Yichang will be held from October 14th to October 31th. By then, more than 10 piano concerts, piano and art events and mass cultural activities will be held. The meeting mainly collected all the preparation information and discussed the deployment of the related preparatory work.
　　After listening to all the reports, Wang Xingyu praised the related departments for their preparatory work. He pointed out that the festival is not only a chance to enhance the fame and reputation of the city, but also the key to ensuring the “three festivals” and the responsibility for the departments. The whole city should seek unify in preparations for major festivals and cultural activities, and joint hands and pool wisdom to do it well.
　　Wang Yuxing indicated that it is indispensable to make good and detailed plan, enhance co-ordination and highlight culture benefits. Progress should be made in making sure that the opening ceremony, the festival awards ceremony and other important activities are safe and excellent, launching propaganda campaign to create the festival atmosphere, and strengthening security and social stability to ensure that the activities can be carried out smoothly.  Besides, it is necessary to insist "efficiency promotes construction, efficiency strengthens revolution", create a first-class environment, and demonstrate the openness, civilization and harmony of Yichang. Efforts should also be given to promoting the combination of culture and tourism, further exploring the market-oriented festival mode and strengthening co-ordination, inspection and supervision to ensure that there is no mistake in the preparations.
　　Liao Dafeng, Standing Member of Municipal Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, chaired the meeting and noted that it was essential to attach great importance, seek unity in thinking and further implement the responsibility while refining the program of work, strengthening the department coordination, communication and improving the planning.
