Yichang City witnessed the press conference of The Fourth Yichang Yangtze River Piano Festival&The First Arts Festival in Yichang on Sep. 22nd. Wang Yinghua, the deputy mayor and the spokesman of the two festivals said that the two festivals will be held in Yichang City from October 14 to October 31. At present, the preparation has been basically completed and some community activities are carried out efficiently. By then, more than 20 performances will provide a series of magnificent art feasts.
At the opening ceremony of the two festivals, except for some classic works, most plays are created in Yichang in recent years or the award-winning works in various national competitions. Most actors are in Yichang or from Yichang except for some famous pianists. During the festival, plays created by artists from each county, county-lvel city, district and tourist attraction will participate in the Yichang Wenhua Award competition. Works of music, dance, drama, art, calligraphy, photography from the public will participate in the Yichang Qunxing Award competition. Citizens can find their stages in the square dance-- Dancing in Yichang performances and the big musical gala –Playing Piano in Yichang. The committee of the Arts Festival will invite 700 (times) audiences through the media as the public judges for Yichang Wenhua Award and Yichang Qunxing Award for the first time and their score will account for 20% of the total.
There are more than 20 performances, 3,400 performers and staff and 22,600 audiences at the Piano Music Festival and Yichang Arts Festival. During the festivals, repertoire in Yichang Wenhua Award competition and Yichang Qunxing Award competition will be performed to the public which enables more citizens to enjoy the local art of Yichang. Pianists will go to communities to popularize piano music culture. Opening Ceremony and Maxim Gorgeous Piano Concert will be broadcast live on television by Three Gorges TV, so people can enjoy high-level shows at home.
