According to Yichang Customs, from January to September, Yichang\'s total import and export value reached 11.29 billion yuan, up 8.3% year on year, of which export was 9.21 billion yuan, up 8.3%, and import 2.08 billion, up 22.4%. Due to that, Yicang\'s total foreign trade value ranked 3rd in the Hubei Province.

　　Statistics showed that imports soared in the third quarter and the highest imports and exports appeared in August. From January to September, Yichang had a trade surplus of 7.13 billion yuan. The import value increased 88.3% in July, 1.65 times in August, and 28.5% in September for the 3rd quarter. The export and import value of August was 2.09 billion yuan, up 22.2% and peaked the value of this year, of which export was 1.76 billion yuan, up 11.2% and import 330 million yuan, increasing 1.65 times.

　　In the first three quarters, the general import and export accounted for 80% of the total import and export value and the processing trade rebounded. From January to September, the value of the general import and export reached 9.04 billion yuan, up 10.2% and accounting for 80% of the total import and export value. In the same period, the processing trade were 2.15 billion yuan, up 7.7%. Meanwhile, exports of private enterprises maintained a rapid growth while the exports of the foreign-invested enterprises declined. From January to September, the imports and exports of private enterprises, state-owned enterprises, and Joint ventures were 5.17 billion yuan, 3.93 billion yuan, and 1.4 billion yuan, up 21.6%, 11.7%, and 5.4% respectively, and that of foreign-owned enterprises was 680 million yuan, down 44.7%.

　　ASEAN is still the largest trading partner of Yichang and the imports and exports to Japan and South Korea increased significantly. From January to September, the bilateral trade with ASEAN amounted to 1.75 billion yuan, up 31.7%, and that with the EU was 1.66 billion yuan, down 12.8%, and that with the United States amounted to 1.47 billion yuan, up 4%.

　　From January to September, Yichang Customs had 624 record enterprises and 6 enterprises with total volume of imports and exports over 500 million yuan. These six enterprises are Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group Co., Ltd., Yidu Dongyangguang Formed Foil Co., Ltd, Angel Yeast Co., Ltd., Zhijiang Aomei Medical Supplies Co., Ltd., Hubei Yihua Fertilizer Co., Ltd., and Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co., Ltd.
