2014-11-05 15:25:29

A man, having had trouble with his wife and 20 phone calls to her with no response, tried to kill her with a knife, and then to burn himself to death in a fire. On October 26th, Hou, the perpetrator was detained by the police of Yuan’an County.
Hou, a 47-year-old man from Hualinsi Town in Yuan’an County, had quarreled with his wife not long time ago. He called his wife in successive three days, but got no response from his wife. Therefore, on the morning of October 25th, he drove a motor tricycle to his wife’s workplace and beat her again.
After intercession of the police, Hou agreed to send his wife back to her mother\'s home that night. When driving to a section in Shuanglu Village of Yangping Town, Hou asked his wife to make an apology while his wife said nothing. Hou was so angry that he drove his tricycle directly rushing into another motorcycle which Lin rode. Lin\'s mother was knocked off on the spot. What’s worse, Lin’s uncle and Lin himself were knocked down to the gound with Hou\'s another try. Then Hou shifted gear the third time and intended to press Lin on the ground, luckily stopped by Lin\'s uncle who quickly held the tricycle\'s clutch.
Hou failed, and then he took out a flick knife trying to scratch the face and neck of Lin\'s uncle, following the same thing done to the head and other parts of his wife.
That scene was right seen by Yu Wenchun, the Village Director for Security. He immediately ran to push Hou away and called the police.
Seeing the police coming, Hou opened the lid of fuel tank, lighted a 100 bill and burned the motor tricycle with it, ready to burn himself to death.
The police rushed to stop him despite of the danger. Finally, Hou was subdued with handcuffs.
Currently, Lin and other two people have been out of danger due to timely treatment, and Hou has been under criminal detention. (Reporter: Gong Changjun; Correspondents: Li Kaiming & Hong Haijun)
