The collection and review meeting of the design proposals on the lower section of the Jiangcheng Avenue was recently held in Yichang. Wuhan Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Central and Southern China Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute, TY Lin International Engineering Consulting (China) Co., Ltd. and Yichang Communications Planning Survey and Design Institute presented their engineering proposals respectively.
　　The lower section of the Jiangcheng Avenue, with a total length of 16 km, starts from Yiqiao Road and ends at Yichang Yangtze Highway Bridge. As the model of the Jiangnan road network construction, the shortlisted designs all regard the landscape of Yichang and Dianjun eco-town as the background, taking advantage of the terrain and topographical features. This design concept reflects the integration of road construction, local natural landscape and natural resource conservation along the road.
　　According to the Key Project Promotion Office of Yichang Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development, the Jiangcheng Avenue is a fast road linking the Dianjun District and as an important part of the "four verticals and five horizontals" fast road network and the second fastest road of Dianjun District. It lies between the Yangtze River and the Trans-dam Highway. Once completed, it will link the Miaozui Yangtze River Bridge, the Yiling Yangtze River Bridge, the Wujiagang Yangtze River Bridge Bridge and the Yichang Yangtze Highway Bridge together.
