Sources from Tourism Development Conference in Yichang on Nov 11 say that Yichang expects to be a National Model City of Tourism Standardization within one and a half year. Through strengthening the enforcement of national, industrial and local standards, Yichang accelerates the upgrading of its tourism service facilities to establish a Yichang-featured tourism standardization system of satisfying the development of modern service industry. In 2016, Yichang will comprehensively meet national assessment standards and finish the establishment of National Model City of Tourism Standardization.

　　Yichang has been selected by National Tourism Bureau as one of the third batch of standard tourism pilot cities. The overall goal of creating National Model City of Tourism Standardization is to guide the way of tourism service industry in Yichang to standardization and branding, to build industrial support for cultural tourism with output value of ￥100 billions and to comprehensively elevate the competitiveness of tourism industry in Yichang as well as to achieve the transition from tourist city to city-based tourism, so that Yichang will become a world-known hydroelectric tourist city and a national top tourist destination.

　　To create a National Model City of Tourism Standardization, there are several main tasks to be accomplished. They are establishment and improvement of the tourism standardization system, implementation of various tourism standards, creation of a group of tourism brands. Meanwhile, it is also required to strengthen the personnel training for tourism standardization and promote the construction of tourism infrastructures so as to enhance visitors\' satisfaction.
