RMB 0.15 Billion Spent on Nov. 11

  At the midnight of November 12, the Alibaba Group published its the amount transactions of the Singles\' Day (in China November 11th is a special day for bachelors) with a total of RMB 57.1 billion ($9,307,300,000), which surpassed last years\' RMB 35 billion ($5,705,000,000). On the afternoon of November 12, the reporter interviewed the staffs of TAOBAO Website, knowing that the residents from Yichang contributed RMB 0.15 billion ($24,450,000) to this festival which ranked high in Hubei Province.

  According to the information from Alibaba, the top 10 provinces of volume sales are Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong, Sichuan, Beijing, Hubei, Hunan, and Fujian Provinces, which were also on the top 10 list for last year. However, Beijing was excluded top 4 ,whereas, Shandong and Sichuan came up as the fourth and the fifth . Hubei still ranks 8th as it did last year.

  According to the statistics of Taobao, the total consumption in Hubei reached as high as 2.34 the province, the top consumption cities are Wuhan, Jinzhou, Yichang, and Xiangyang. Specifically, Wuhan spent RMB 1.11 billion ($180,930,000), Yichang, 0.15 billion($24,450,000); Jinzhou, 0.15 billion($24,450,000) and Xiangyang, 0.13 billion($21,190,000). The interesting thing that happened is that, consumption for men and women accounted for 39.63% and 60.37%. The female consumption rate is as high as 60%. The consumption rate is much higher than that in Wuhan, Xiangyang, and Jinzhou, lower than 60%.

  In addition, the Taobao index shows that, the residents from Yichang pay greater attention to the home textile furnishings. Before the Singles\' Day, people’s searching index for LOVO, in Yichang ranked tenth among the largest home textile furnishings within the whole country. However, the searching volume is far lower than the top 20 in terms of other major appliances, shoes, furniture, cell phones, mother and infant products, menswear, and beauty makeup, etc. (Reporter: Zhang Bokang)
