With the implementation and promotion of the national strategy for the development and construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park which is under construction in Zigui County is embracing a golden opportunity to flourish. On November 27th, Wang Xiaodong, a member of the Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor made a special trip to Zigui for research and issued a directive that the construction of Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park would be brought into the comprehensive transportation system of the Three Gorges hub and the provincial strategy of the development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Wang praised the Party Committee and the Government of Zigui County for their great determination and courage, far-reaching foresight and strong sense of responsibility, and expected that they could take the opportunity to exert themselves to be the pioneer of the strategic development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
　　Born against the backdrop of the inadequate navigation capacity of Three Gorges Dam, the Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park is built and presently thriving  as an essential part of the comprehensive transportation system of Three Gorges Fanba. After the impoundment of the Three Gorges Project in 2003, boats, goods and people gather in Zigui that forms the transport mode of Three Gorges Fanba transferring in Zigui, owing to the long-time of ships’ staying for lockage and limited navigation capacity.
　　Seeing the great potential and development prospect in developing port logistics, Zigui County Party Committee and government put forward the development strategy of “New County of Three Gorges Logistics” and set about compiling feasibility study report, project preliminary design, planning formulation and other preliminary works of the project of Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park in 2008. In December 2011, site area was authorized of 3.06 square kilometers with approval of Hubei Development and Reform Commission. But with the quantity of transship goods in Three Gorges Fanba increased year by year, the original approved area could not meet the demands of future development. After planning modification for four times, the planning control area was adjusted to 13 square kilometers.
　　With a planning area of 8 square kilometers, the core area of the whole park is Fanba Logistics Industrial Area including Transportation Logistics Area (of which are Dredging Port Railway Station, Cargo Port and Customs Special Surveillance Zone), Commercial Logistics Area and Lingang Industrial Area. The park began construction on September 21st, 2010, and its early stage of construction task was undertook by Zigui county investment company as the owner unit. So far, the investment has been accumulated to be completed of 1.55 billion and the developed land area is of about 2.13 square kilometers, the excavation and filling of earthwork has been completed of about 22 million cubic meters, the houses has been constructed for 28 units with the total covered area of 91,236 square kilometers and houses demolished are 368 units. At present stage, the important infrastructure projects including the second-stage construction of Maoping work area of Zigui harbor district in Yichang harbor, Freight Center Building in the area of the Three Gorges Dam (Maoping), dredging port road and box culvert engineering are stepping up construction.
　　Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park is adjacent to Qu Yuan International Ecological and Cultural Tourism in the Three Gorges area (including Zigui Homeport of Three Gorges Tourism, Comprehensive Cultural Tourism, Muyu Island and Qu Yuan\'s Hometown Scenic Spot), which has a planning area of 2 square kilometers. Jingang City Integrated Supporting Service Area provides comprehensive service for flowing people, logistics and information flow, with a total planning area of 3 square kilometers.
　　It is reported that the Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park based on serving the Three Gorges Area puts connecting Han Yu, mainly affecting Central part of China and having its own influence spread all over the country as a goal; puts setting up the Three Gorges integrated transport system as the core, aiming to promote the development of port-surrounding industries including the logistics, transportation, processing, tourism and so on and to make itself a bridgehead of Yangtze River Economic Belt of Hubei Province , an important part of Yangtze Synthetical Three-dimensional Transport Corridor, the core area of the Three Gorges Fanba integrated transport system, and a gathering zone of Three Gorges Reservoir Area to undertake industrial transfer. It will in the end make a harmonious port-production-people-city communion, an intermodal river-railway-highway-air complex and an integrated industry park of billions.
　　On November 1, Li Hongzhong the Hubei Provincial Secretary made key instructions to investments of Zigui County in the construction of the Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park and Xiangxi Yangtze River Highway Bridge. He pointed out that the Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park was not only for a county, a city, but for the whole province; therefore it should be regarded as a plan of provincial strategy, seen from a high point of the opening development of Yangtze River Economic Belt and Hubei Province. And the Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Industrial Park will count more for not only Zigui and Yichang, but also the whole Hubei Province and Central Part of China when it is completed.  (Correspondent Xiao Pengcheng)
