Since the year of 2007, based on the improvement of the four major fundamental information system--- the population, legal person, housing and urban parts, more efforts have been made by the government of Yichang to make a unified plan, unified construction, unified bid, unified monitoring, unified standard, and unified distribution of capital, 112 applications of 34 departments have been installed in the platform of cloud computing system to achieve the seamless connection of fundamental information with the total storage of information exceeds 48T, 1.76 billion.
In order to update the large database in time, the data of business system of departments in Yichang has to achieve a real-time exchange with the database of cloud computing center. Besides, the information coverage of government affairs has reached 95 percent, which greatly enhanced the efficiency of the government, saved a lot of manpower, and ensured that nearly 30 percent of government departments spare more efforts in serving the people in local communities.
The implementation of "Legal grid project" was carried out by the Municipal Bureau of Justice in 2012, encouraging judicial administrative officials, lawyers, notaries to provide more legal services to each gird through the way of one administrator taking responsibility of one’s own community grid. The Municipal Public Security Bureau in Yichang managed to set up police station equipped with 1 to 2 policemen almost in each community grid to offer service for 11 items, such as changing name, applying for temporary residence permits and so on.
