The opening ceremony of the construction of Huaqiang Science & Technology Industrial Park, with a total investment of ¥2 billion was held in the bio-tech industrial park of high-tech zone in Yichang on December 20th. Ma Xuming, the vice-secretary of municipal party committee and the mayor of Yichang city, attended the ceremony and formally declared the beginning of the construction project. Deng Zhiyou, the vice president of China South Industries Corp as well as a member of the party, and Yang Meiren, the director of high-tech zone also presented.
　　Deng Zhiyou said that Huaqiang Sci-Tech Industrial Park, as the key project of further cooperation between the China South Industries Corp and Yichang city, is the strategic project to achieve the upgrading and transformation of this industrial park. Huaqiang Group will fully support the construction of Huaqiang Sci-Tech Industrial Park to ensure the timely completion of the overall relocation in the old factory area, to quicken the pace of industrial upgrading, and to build the industrial park a modern first-class high-tech industrial base in China with international competitiveness.
　　Yang Meiren pointed out that the starting of this project marks the location of industries have been changed from the urban areas to the industrial park, since Huaqiang Science & Technology Industrial Park is an important achievement of a strategic cooperation agreement jointly carried out by the China South Industries Corp and the government of Yichang city. And the more efforts will be done to continue optimizing environment for the development of industries, providing quality services for the construction of this project in high-tech zones of Yichang, to prompt the early establishment of the construction of the industrial park, accelerate the transformation development of industries, enhance competitiveness of industries and provide a new industrial support for the construction of building Yichang a modern mega-city.
　　Wang Dongmin, the chairman of Huaqiang Science & Technology Group said that the strategic cooperation agreement signed by the municipal government of Yichang and the China South Industries Corp will be earnestly implemented, and the construction of green park will be built with concentration of superior resources, high standard and high-speed, which strives to make a new city name card for the development of Yichang and a new benchmark of industrial restructuring and transformation.
　　Huaqiang Science & Technology Group is affiliated with the China South Corp, and it is a professional manufacturer of special protection equipment as well as the earliest and largest-scale manufacturer of medicinal butyl rubber stopper.
　　With the first-stage investment of ¥1.4 billion, the highly automated assembly lines will be built to produce 8 billion butyl rubber stoppers every year, which is an assembly line to manufacture special protection equipment with the highest degree of automation, the most convenient means to connect with the advanced information and flexibility. The national industrial technology center will be built and an R&D platform will be set up for the manufacturing of butyl rubber stopper and special protection equipment. The construction will be finished within three years, the annual sales income will reach over ¥20 billion, with ¥170 million profits and taxes. (By Zheng Guanghua and Zhao Wei)
