According to the Yichang Municipal Tourism Bureau, Yichang received 506,500 domestic and foreign tourists during the New Year holiday, with the gross income of tourism reaching 17 million Yuan. During the holiday, the tourist market in the whole city was in good order, without tourist security incidents and major complaint cases.

　　According to the statistics, the six major tourist attractions, namely, the Three Gorges Dam, Three Gorges Households, Qingjiang River Gallery, Qu Yuan\'s Hometown, Xiling Gorges Scenic Spot, Chexi Folk Custom Scenic Spot, altogether received 88,700 tourists. What is especially worth mentioning is that Qu Yuan\'s Hometown received over 20,000 tourists within 3 days, which could be regarded as its first success after it became one of 5A scenic spots. Its unique scenery, developed infrastructures, and good services, favorable geographical position contributed a lot in attracting tourists from home and abroad.

　　The reporters learned that during this holiday, short-distance tour, family tour, self-help tour, self-driving tour have still been the major modes of touring, more thriving than last year, which helped bring the growing popularity of farmer’s restaurants and express inns. Tianhu Back Mountain Area and Approach-Aviation Area in Xiaoting District were especially popular among the tourists, who went there to enjoy the country-style dishes and firewood rice. This district received 4,100 tourists daily.
