According to Xinhua News Agency , News of Yichang on January 12: although less water came from the upper reaches than the average amount, additional 5.11 billion kw/h of electricity has been generated in 2014 by optimizing the dispatching made by the Three Gorges Power Station.

　　It is reported by China Three Gorges Corporation that there was 438 billion cubic of accumulative water in Three Gorges Reservoir which was 2.8% less than the average amount. During the real-time dispatching, staff of the Three Gorges Power Station who closely supervised the data of weather changes, reservoir inflow, the water level in front of the dam and so on, strengthened communication with hydrological department and meteorological department in order to improve the accuracy of hydrologic forecast. Consequently, under the safe operation and flood control, optimal dispatching has been achieved.
