According to the Municipal Agriculture Bureau, farmers’ co-operative and registered family farms have reached 4778 and 1516 respectively in Yichang.
Yichang has focused on the nurturing of new management subjects, the launching of pilot registration and certification of rural land contractual management rights, and the constructing of transaction platforms for rural collective properties, resources and rights at the county and township level to push forward the rural land transfers in this year. As a result, 1033 service organizations have been set up for the transferring of rural land contractual management rights at the county, township and village level, 750 thousand mu of land have been transferred, occupying 21% of the total area of family contractual lands, and 18 land stock cooperatives have been established in possession of 25 thousand mu of land at present. Furthermore, farmers can enjoy the incremental income of 200 to 300 yuan per mu and the nearby work income of 60 to 100 yuan per day through land transfers (Reporter: Zhao Wei, Correspondent: Jiang Yuemei).
