According to the 6th session of the 5th Municipal People’s Congress, the overall financial revenue of Yichang City in 2014 reaches 35.56 billion yuan (the 3.4 billion yuan state-level enterprise income tax that has been paid by the Yangtze Electric Power is not included) with an increase of 21.4%. Among it, the tax revenue amounts to 26.56 billion yuan and the non-tax revenue 9 billion yuan. The local public financial budget revenue of the whole city is 27.15 billion yuan with an increase of 31.6%. Among it, the urban revenue reaches 11.33 billion yuan, which accounts for 41.7% of the total revenue; the total income of the counties and city-level counties (including Yiling District) amounts to 15.82 billion yuan, which accounts for 58.3% of the total revenue. The local public financial budget revenue of eight counties and county-level cities surpassed one billion yuan, 4 of which exceeding two billion, and Yidu and Yiling three billion.
In 2014, full play was given to the construction of all the major projects included in the city’s megalopolis construction program, and the construction of the industrial park and urban area was kicked into high gear. Great importance was also attached to promoting industrial transformation and upgrading vigorously; speeding up the transformation of economic development pattern; facilitating the rapid development of the six big one-hundred billion yuan industries including fine chemistry, food, biology and medicine, advanced equipment manufacturing, new materials, modern logistics and cultural tourism. The financial and taxation departments at all levels had tried to increase the revenues and keep tight control on spending, and strengthen the financial and taxation management.
