Transport during the 2015 Spring Festival period will last for 40 days from February 4 to March 15, 20 days later than last year. It is predicted that the city\'s traffic during the Spring Festival will reach 7.98 million passengers, up 1% from the same period last year.
On the afternoon of January 22, the National Development and Reform Commission and the related national authorities convened the 2015 television and telephone conference in Beijing concerning the transport during the 2015 Spring Festival period. The Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Municipal Transportation Bureau, Yichang Train Operation Depot, Municipal Traffic Police Detachment and other units attended the meeting in Yichang.
Among the predicted 8 million passengers, passengers travel by road, air, railway, and water will reach 6.5 million, 1.2 million, 0.17 million and 0.11 million respectively, with the first two up 1% and 11% respectively, and the third remaining the same, and the last down 1.2% from the same period last year.
The "Spring Festival navi-cert" management system will continue to be implemented for business vehicles and ships this year. Drivers whose license points were with 12 records full deduction are strictly prohibited from participating in Spring Festival transport, following the strict implementation of no thoroughfare for passenger vehicles on mountain roads below three level at night and strict implementation of the system that coaches must rest or change a driver from 2am to 5am to ensure safe and orderly Spring Festival transport.
During the Spring Festival period, the various sectors, particularly transport enterprises should focus on the transport in key areas, key routes, key stations, key period of time and improve buses, ships and flights density according to the dynamic changes in passenger traffic to ensure coordination of urban public transport and rail and road transport, and moderately increase the density of overnight bus to ensure passengers travel demand at night.
