　　Since Yichang implemented the health insurance policy for urban residents in 2008, the standard of residents\' payment allowance of health care increased year by year from 90 yuan in 2008 to 320 yuan in 2014. In 2014, the residents\' payment allowance of health insurance totaled 205.53 million yuan.
　　In 2014, 61 million residents in Yichang were covered in the health insurance, and the medical insurance expenses were 252.98 milion yuan, up 19% from 2013. To further improve the medical insurance system for urban residents and improve the protection level of catastrophic health care, the municipal government office issued "the Catastrophic Health Care for Urban Residents in Yichang", and the eligible residents can enjoy the treatment of catastrophic health care. In 2014, the expenses of catastrophic medical insurance had a total of 22.48 million yuan.
