In 2015, a number of major transport projects, including the Fanba Railway and the Xiangxi Yangtze River Bridge, will be started to build in the north part of the Yangtze River of Yichang city, and the total number of investment in the construction of transport in the city will reach to 11 billion reported on the meeting of works of transport and communications & promoting development of Party style and construction of a clean and honest administration on January 26th .
　　Last year, the city has completed the construction of 100 kilometers Grade-Ⅰ highway and 500 kilometers of secondary roads. The total amount of imports and exports broke 75 million tons, with 150,000 containers. To fully achieve the goal of constructing more convenient transports in administrative villages, the Department of Transportation in Yichang has widened 2,668 km sub-grade and pavement for highway, and set up 1,418 kilometers guardrail, thus to improve the transport and communications in the administrative villages.
　　To ensure the success completion of "the 12th Five-Year Plan" in 2015, the Department of Transportation in Yichang has made great effort to strongly promote infrastructure construction and maintenance. At present, the preparatory work in the construction of Dangyang-Zhijiang, Yidu- Yuyangguan and Yuyangguan-the boundary of Hunan and Hubei of the Yichang-Zhangjiajie Expressway have been completed and the section of Yichang-Yueyang Expressway in Yichang has been finished.The preliminary work in the construction of Yidu-Laifeng Expressway and the Fanba Highway in the north part of the Yangtze River should be sped up. Besides, the research and planning in the construction of Xingshan-Shennongjia Expressway should be further accelerated. The preliminary work in the construction of the Xiangxi Yangtze River Highway Bridge as well as the Baiyang Yangtze River Highway Bridge should be sped up; the Ziyun Railway has been established and put into use and the construction of the Fanba Railway has started to build; More effort should be made in the construction of 10 Grade-I roads including the Dangyang-Zhijiang Road, Wancheng Bridge–Yunchi of 318 State Road and Wujiagang-Longquan Road; the first-stage construction of the Baiyang Yangtze River Highway Bridge as well as the secondary-stage construction of Maoping Road have been basically completed. Besides, 8 more projects in the construction of the ports transport and communication such as the Three Gorges Cruise Center will be started; the construction of 10 stations including the Three Gorges Fanba (Maoping) Logistics Park, Baiyang Logistics Park and Honghuatao Logistics Park should be accelerated; Great effort should be made to fully complete medium-sized national and provincial trunk repair works before the end of August and try to open more than one intercity bus to improve the overall condition of traffic of the whole city.
