On March 17th, the Municipal Bureau for Urban Planning held CSCEC (China State Construction Engineering Corporation)-Yichang Central Plan and Architectural Design Scheme Experts Consulting Conference at Taohualing Hotel and invited a panel of 7 experts from the national renowned design institutions and universities to have the consultations on the scheme.
CSCEC-Yichang Central Project is located in the area along Yangtze River of Wujiagang District’s area ( the planned Central Business District ), which stretches from Wulin Road (next to Wuyi Square) in the north to Yanjiang Avenue in the south, from Shenjiadian Road in the east to Baisha Road in the west. The project covers an area of about 50.16 hectares and an overall floorage of 168.98 hectares with 70.05 hectares of commercial service facilities and 98.94 hectares of housing construction.
The scheme adopted the design philosophy of the New Urbanism and planned the spatial structure of “one corridor and belt, two centers in two areas” to build the landmark riverside complex in Western Hubei and Eastern Chongqing by creating “urban balcony”.
According to the panel, the scheme has reflected the themes of the CBD and highlighted the scenery characteristic of the riverside region. In addition, it has presented the modification proposals for several aspects including functional maturation, traffic organization and architectural design.
