Ma Xuming, the deputy secretary of municipal Party committee and mayor, made an investigation and survey for leisure agriculture and non-staple food project in Yiling District. He fully acknowledged the achievements obtained in the development of both urban-rural integration and agricultural industry. According to him, each region in our city is supposed to help companies deal with their practical problems during the development through the market and work together to build Yichang into a Model Area of Coordinating Urban and Rural Development in central China.

　　Ma and others successively investigated and surveyed the following places, including Fenxiang Town in Yiling District, Yichang Shanlilai Food Company, Yichang Home Livestock Company, Nanya Village Leisure Park, Nanchawan Village & Xiaoxita Town Forest Park, River-heart Park, Casual Gallery of Banguan Village in Xiaoxita Street, and Hubei Qiaoniuer Husbandry Company.

　　During the investigation and survey, Ma visited the quality monitoring facilities for agricultural products in the vegetable greenhouse. In the pig farm, he not only inspected sewage disposal facilities, cyclic utilization, floodwall construction, but also inquired the operation of the company and the implementation of national policies. When they were in Leisure & Sightseeing Agricultural Exemplary Base surrounded by blooming rape flowers, he communicated with the tourists and got to know the development planning. He inspected Nanchawan Village in Fenxiang Town, one of the 30 poverty villages in Yichang and asked about the situation of dilapidated house transformation and human and animal drinking project. He also asked about difficulties encountered in the development of tourism with a stone-farmhouse feature, road construction, and adjustment of industrial structure there. In Xiaoxita Forest Park, River Central Park and Guanzhuang Leisure Tour Gallery, he did some surveys about the development. In Hubei Qiaoniuer Husbandry Company, he fully affirmed its reasonable market analysis, and he also gave some instructions to solve main problems of the company.  

　　According to Ma, the government in Yiling District keeps a clear mind of sticking to building quality industrial base by green ecology, to constructing a complete industrial chain by increasing product value, to establishing efficient industrial economy by the integration of three industries, to creating the first-class industrial environment by the combination between urban and rural areas. The government in Yiling District has always persisted in scheming agriculture with an industrial idea to turn farmland into sightseeing garden, and its way of constructing urban-rural ecological system has its own features with obvious effects and strong driving force. Therefore, it has made progress in promoting Yiling District into a new industry district, an ecology-friendly circle as well as a paradise for citizens in this megacity. 

　　 Ma points out that since our city has been deeply pushing forward the integration of developments between urban and rural areas in recent years, we have not only improved the image of urban and rural areas, enhanced the vitality of economy and steadily increased the income of farmers, but also established many sound working mechanisms and methods. He hopes that all of relevant departments in Yiling District and other regions in Yichang city can grasp the main trend and make more progress, continuously stick to top-level design, overall integration, vigorous promotion and innovative breakthrough. In the education practice activity on the theme of “new normal, new achievement and new performance”, we should seize the opportunity to open a new chapter of coordinating urban and rural development

　　Ma also requires that, the key to promote overall urban-rural development and carry out non-staple food project well is effectively implementing the thorough policies. As companies deal with their practical problems mainly by relying on the market, our government department should innovate our minds and methods to employ feasible and reliable policies to support the market so as to finally help companies address the problems. The construction of modern megacity in Yichang is to mould the characteristic of its towns, to strengthen according functions and to promote the integration between city and industry. Under the framework of “eco-security, city-industry combination and structure assurance”, our government features in “landscape city, local civilization” to make more contributions to build Yichang into a top central non-capital city.  (Reporter Zhangliang)
