At this critical time when the spring ploughing started and summer grain crops grew, Yichang Municipal Bureau of Agriculture timely issued Guidance on Field Management in Spring and Current Agricultural Disaster Prevention and Relief. The Guidance provided practical guidance and some measures in terms of technology. Meanwhile, the supervision and conduction team of spring agricultural production arrived in Yuan’ an County, Zhijiang City (county-level), Yiling District and other places to supervise and give some guidance on disaster prevention and relief.
Cleaning ditches and draining water-logging to reduce the humidity of the field is the main work of field management in the rainy weather. The Municipal Bureau of Agriculture requires local departments of agriculture to organize famers to dredge the outfalls around the wheat land, rape field and the plastic shelter of early rice sprout cultivation. It will facilitate the water-logging drainage and prevent the water-logging. Foliar fertilizer should be applied to strengthen the tenacity of wheat stems, promote the growth of rapeseed pod and increase the vitality of their roots so that it can prevent lodging and plant premature senescence. After the rainy days, the prevention of crop diseases and insect pests should be quickly carried out to minimize the damage to crops caused by heavy rain.
