The communication lines from Xiling to Desheng Street were successfully implemented on April 10 marking the comprehensive construction of the private smart distribution network in urban areas of Yichang City and the beginning of the rapid development of this smart distribution network of Yichang City..

　　At the beginning of this year, Yichang Power Supply Company decided to carry out the first stage project of power distribution automation from Xiling Er Lu in the north to Yunji Road in the south, Yanjiang Avenue in the west to Dongshan Avenue in the east. Core urban areas of Xiling District, with an area of 2.5 square kilometers of power supply, was selected as the key areas of urban distribution network reconstruction. Yichang will implement smart distribution network reconstruction based on the "Five Integrations", which means the integration in network planning, technical standards, design, technological skills and project management. Xingtong Company, the branch of Yichang Power Supply Company invested special funds of more than ￥20 million. Yichang has set up a special project team and made construction plan in advance, to avoid problems, such as the traffic density, complex road conditions, harsh construction conditions, tension construction time and to overcome other difficulties. Several construction brigades worked at the same time in different construction areas. Till present, 7 private optical communication lines, with a total length of 100 kilometers, have been completed in three months. More than 400 distribution communication terminals will be set up until June.

　　The reconstructed smart distribution communication network will be put into operation before this summer. All statistics collected by the distribution communication terminals will be sent to substations to improve the reliability and quality of power supply, and to save time in handling incidents.

The automation construction planning of power distribution from 2015 to 2020, which was put forward by Yichang Power Supply Company, indicated that the reconstruction work in distribution network will completed in all areas of Yichang City with a total of 21,000 square kilometers within five years, contributing to building Yichang a smart city. (By Zhu Jia, Du Fengyi and Han Yina)
