Half Year Extension of Flights to Taiwan

  According to the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Taiwanese temporary passenger flights have once again got approval from National Office of Port Administration to continue to run another half year on Friday after a year stable operation of the Yichang to Taiwan flights. This means the Yichang to Taiwan flights are moving into a stable interval and will continue to play the role of bridge in cross-strait relationship from May 1st to October 31.
  According to a staff of municipal bureau of commerce, Yichang aviation port has successfully launched the Yichang to Taiwan flights in May 2014. After that, this airline enjoys a good operating benefit with more than 90% of attendance rate. As of the end of December 2014, Yichang aviation port international (regional) charter flights have operated 198 sorties with an increase of 27.74%, and transported 21,395 passengers both inbound and outbound  with an increase of 73.74%, which reaches a new high. Among them, the Yichang to Taiwan charter flights covered 83 sorties with 11,730 Taiwan passengers.
  Due to the great operation of the Yichang to Taiwan flights, the National Office of Port Administration approved the time extension of Taiwanese temporary passenger charter flights exit from Yichang airport for another half year for the first time. While during January to March 2015, Yichang to Taiwan flights have flied26 sorties and transported 3708 passengers both inbound and outbound with an increase of 113%.
  Yin Kun, a staff of municipal bureau of commerce said that during the past year, the Yichang to Taiwan flights operated stably, thus the National Office of Port Administration has approved the time extension of charter flights for twice, which will lay a good foundation for Yichang airport expand and opening of international flights.(report: Zhang Bokang, correspondent: Deng Tengfei)
