Registered Nurses in Yichang Reached 12038

  By the end of 2014, the number of registered nurses in Yichang has reached 12038, 3.01 nurses per1000 citizens and reaching the basic standard of health care workers needed in a city.
  According to relevant persons in charge from Medical Vocation Branch of Yichang Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, the number of registered nurse in Yichang has reached 12038, accounting for 44.33% of the total number of health staff.  The ratio that 3.01 nurses per 1000 citizens is higher than the average proportion in Hubei Province which is 2.47 nurses per 1000 citizens. The average nurse ratio of common ward is 1:0.53, making the number of health care workers met the standard.
  Besides, the diplomas of nurses are becoming multi-leveled. The data indicates that about 57.9% of nurses have received college education or above; around 27.6% have college diplomas; approximately 10.1% have received university education; almost 27.6% have professional ranks and titles of supervising nurse or above, forming a reasonable nurses academic structure with  college diploma or above as the mainstay, signifying the
