Currently, Yichang summer harvest has been basically finished. According to statistics from Yichang Agricultural Bureau, 1970.7 km² land of summer crops and oil has been harvested, up 44km2 compared to last year. During the Harvest, 603,000 tons crop straws have been fully utilized with 85.7% comprehensive utilization percentage, which increase 49,000 tons and 5.7% compared to last year.

“There are 5 kinds of comprehensively utilized crop straws, among which straws utilized in fertilizer account for the largest part.” Yu Wenchang, the head of Yichang Agricultural Ecological and Environmental Protection Station introduced. Straws utilized in fertilizer total 336,000 tons, in fodder total 158,000 tons, in energy total 70,000 tons, in base stock total 30,000 tons and in raw material total 9,000 tons. At present, rape straw utilization has preliminarily formed a new pattern which is led by mechanized crushing straw returning technology, and supplemented by the gradual popularization of fast decomposition straw returning technology and basic stock of edible fungus cultivation. The technology of comprehensive crop straw utilization is driven to grow rapidly in Yichang.　　 

To guarantee the smooth implementation of the open burning of crop straw in Yichang, based on the vigorous promotion of mechanized crushing straw returning technology, fast decomposition straw returning technology and straw utilization in fertilizer, Yichang Agricultural Bureau claims local regions to carry out pilot works in application and promotion of straws utilizing in fodder, energy, raw material and base stock in accordance with the reality of industry, and in the meantime, issues more than 40,000 papers like To All the Harvester Operator. During the summer harvest, 14 demonstrations of agricultural machinery have been held, 65 related trainings have been carried out and more than ten thousand people were trained. (Reporter Cao Yang, correspondent Liu Juan)
