BRT Platform Traffic Guiding System Improved
2015-08-14 11:18:05

When the 1st line of BRT was put into pilot run since this week, citizens have good feedback and have a deep impression to the speediness and punctuality. Meanwhile, citizens also reflect some problems about undefined transfer bus, unclear entrance direction, etc. In the absence of complete installation of BRT traffic guiding system along Dongshan Avenue, Yichang Bus Group make temporary traffic guiding guidelines at the first time and set about to improve the traffic guiding system of 42 sub-stations. All stations from Yichang East Railway Station to Gezhouba Turntable can meet the demands of passengers, thanks to several overnights work of the staff.

Hu Lin, the manager of BRT Management Branch Office of Yichang Bus Group, introduced on the afternoon of July 19, that traffic guiding system of all existing sub-stations was better improved through continuous overtime after night closure of BRT platform from July 16, according to the previous collected suggestions and advices of citizens. Four main improvement measures are: first, spraying words of “Entrance” (in green) and “Exit” (in red) on the floor of entrance to help passengers choose their routes more conveniently and intuitively and spraying mark of “Exit” (in red) in front of the gate of exit after learning that many passengers would enter the gate of entrance when they want to exit; second, adjusting the bus running chart of partial route since the pilot run of BRT, pasting arrow to direct the moving direction of BRT bus in entrance platform and outside of platform because many citizens are uncertain of their own transfer direction and transfer bus, and adding BRT bus information of passing platforms in front of entrance gate so that passengers could find transfer bus without entering into station; third, pasting warning of “No Leaning” in all 588 safety gates in 42 stations because very few of passengers would lean on safety gates which would cause the malfunction of the safety gate and there are not enough management staff now to control; fourth, that sanitation and regular cleaning work in platform are the responsibility of the attendants and volunteers before cleaners of platform are in place.
