On the afternoon July 19, 13 travelers were trapped in Peacock Valley, Huangliang Town, Xingshan County, when they were hiking there. One of them got head hurts for falling rock. Local rescue team, after receiving the report, quickly rushed there to rescue. Until 10 p.m. last night the reporter filed this news, the rescue was still standing.
At 6:10 that afternoon, Xingshan fire squadron, after receiving a report, quickly dispatched 8 officials there to rescue. It was learned that rainstorm fell suddenly and triggered flood which trapped those 13 travelers in valley. One of them is a 40-year-old woman from Yichang whose head was hurt severely from the falling rock when she was climbing. According to firefighters in the rescue, at around 8 o\'clock that night, four missing travelers of a tour team were found and went out of the valley after recovering their energy. While due to complex landform in the valley plus rapid torrential flood, it was so difficult for the firefighters to carry out rescue work that they had to keep on searching work till 10 o\'clock.
The Peacock Valley in Xingshan has its own advantages in natural surroundings and is very popular among travelers. In July 2012 and 2013, similar events just happened and several travelers unfortunately died right here.
