Bus Card for BRT Platform Goes On Sale

On July 30, the reporter learned from Yichang Bus Group that, one-way time for BRT from Yichangdong to Gezhouba shortened to 90 minutes currently, and there were 310,000 passengers taking BRT everyday among which 160,000 people getting in and out of BRT platform.
Related officials said that during the two weeks of BRT pilot run from July 15 to July 28, citizens\' perspective on BRT has tranformed rapidly and they especially give high appraisal to its speediness and punctuality.
It is understood that from July 15 to 28, daily shifts of BRT (one main line and 16 branch lines) buses are 498 and daily shifts of B9 line are increased from 44 to 62 with the interval  shortening from 5 minutes to 2 to 3 minutes and speed from 40 k/h to 50 k/h. One-way time for the line from Yichangdong to Gezhouba shortens from 120 minutes to 90 minutes and numbers of buses increase from 20 to 37. There are no passengers being stranded in platform for a long time.
To relieve the traffic pressure for citizens in rush hour, since July 25, Yichang Bus Group delivers another 7 buses to open Interzonal Bus from Yemingzhu to Shimapo in rush time between 6:40 to 8:30 with an interval time for 8 minutes. Since BRT is in test run, in order to provide passengers the route information of each bus, Yichang Bus Group has pasted line identifications in the front and back door of the BRT buses and has stipulated that all the arrival buses can stay at most 30 seconds in platform and has forbade buses to pull in for a second time when it stands by, and recently, will monitor the running speed of BRT buses within the corridor to maintain one-way operation time within 41 minutes.
At the meantime, Yichang Bus Group will continue to modify electronic route map of BRT buses recently. From today all the BRT platforms will start selling unregistered small-amount bus IC card for the convenience of those passengers without carrying small changes. In addition, Yichang Bus Group will conduct passenger flow investigation to formulate a further scheme for route optimization or transport capacity configuration.
